I hate buying pants. Women come in too many shapes and sizes for a simple numbering system to work well. I try to shop for dress pants at places that offer free alterations, and for jeans, I keep planning to research places that offer custom; I was in San Francisco last year and the Levi's store normally does that but their fitting machine was out of order.
