nah, it's just a relaxed state where you are in complete control. very relaxing and very enjoyable, very peaceful, like the relaxed state you feel right before going to sleep, but with hypnotherapy you remain in that relaxed state.
I was not sure about doing it with the psychologist I was seeing. We started with guided imagery and even though I was nervous and self-concious, I wanted to try and I was very surprised at how relaxing it was.
it is nothing at all like you see on tv for entertainment. it's quiet, safe, peaceful, and anxiety just dissolves; those nice feelings last a while afterwards too. I don't know how it progresses from there because I ended up switching therapists after only a few months, but I continue with guided imagery CD's and meditation CD's.
