I don't exchange gifts with that many people. In my family, extended family members stop exchanging gifts when a person is no longer considered a kid. Even my siblings and I mostly stopped exchanging after those years, save maybe really small stuff. Since both of my siblings were born in December, their birthdays pretty much cover it, anyway. I stopped giving my nephews gifts when they came of age. Though my husband exchanges a lot with friends, his one sister and nephews of that sister, I don't. Call me Scrooge, if you like, but I truly like it this way. I don't mind not getting anything (or much) from them.

Of course I do exchange with my husband and dad (my mother passed away about 15 years ago), and am fairly generous. This year I told my husband that I wanted to get him new skis and ski boots. He was ecstatic and has already bought them, on my behalf, along with a cool ski helmet. I am yet to buy something for my dad. I have no clue what, because he never wants anything. Usually I buy him a shirt or sweater, because he always likes them. When I've purchased other things for him, they were never used.
