I don't know how old you are, but there are options other than living on the streets, especially if you have medical problems.

I do not know your individual situation so I am going to list a couple:

1) If you were a child of the foster care system, you have many rights afforded to you, including housing and independent living skills training and even higher education. If you were in foster care recently, let me know because I will go into detail about all this.

2) If you are on the streets and a "youth" (usually defined as younger than 21 although some states consider 25), you can get into a shelter and get some skill training. I don't know where you live, but Convenant House is one that has many programs.

3) If you are older than "youth," you can find other shelters that can hook you up with training programs and housing options. For example, I volunteer in a Women and Children Shelter. It is open all year and the women can get their GED or get trade skills while staying in the shelter or housing.

I don't know what kind of shelter you were staying in that closes, but perhaps you can find another that is open and work on getting help. There are alot of services available, but you need to figure out (a) if you want them, and (b) how to go about finding them. Like I said, I do not know where you are located, but their are many options than living on the streets.
