I've noticed, for me, that sometimes it's good to express in words or writing for others to hear or read, the exact thoughts I'm having - even if those thoughts go against everything good in the world. Even if those thoughts are very violent in nature, I don't care, because that's what's in my mind. That's my truth in those very angry moments. And, so, venting them out really does have a funny way of bringing about some calm. Like releasing the pressure valve, I guess. But that all depends, also, on how low the person has sunk into the swamp of ill-feeling. It may take some time before venting can be felt to be having any effect, at all. But it's a possible tool you can use to manage anger.
