There was a solar eclipse today and here's a shot of totality. The famous diamond ring effect caused by the hills and valleys on the moon.
Also jupiter and saturn are getting really close to each other. They haven't been this close since the year 1226! You can see the pair in the southwest sky just after sunset. Don't wait until it's dark, you can see them while the sky is still partially lit by the setting sun. If you're on the east coast of the u.s. you should be able to see them around 530pm....southwest sky.
They are closest on Dec 21.
