I'll copy paste from my response to Bizi's question
My Neurologist said that there have been studies done on Seroquil and other psych meds that there is a small percentage that can cause TIA's or full on Stroke. He took me off them in case that was the cause. He wants to see me go 6 months without another TIA or Stroke then he feels it would be safe to go back on something, Unless I get in a terrible mental place and I absolutely need psych med other than Lamictal.

My son had a small hole in a valve in his wall or valve or chamber. It’s called a PFO. We all have these holes but they are supposed to close up as babies. His didn’t and two clots slipped through and went to the brain. Scariest thing I’ve ever been through. We got him to the hospital in 10 minutes and literally had to yell at them that no, he was not on drugs it was a stroke. But he had the home repaired. It’s the coolest thing. It’s a tiny titanium screen to prevent it from happening. He had to take plavix for 6 months and will be on aspirin therapy for the rest of his life. But get this: he had the stroke in November. Immediately had the the therapies started immediately. He finished up his fall semester while he recovered. He stayed enrolled for January. He graduated this May with all these awards and a 4.0. He did amazing on his LSATs. He applied to law school ( Villanova, Rutgers, UPenn, Drexel, temple, seton hall). He just got an early offer from Rutgers with a 15000$ school of law scholarship! He really like Villanova when we wen for the tour. UPenn is his dream school. It’s Ivy League and 90$000 a year but the people that graduated end up with amazing clerkships and six figure incomes. He’s applying for their social justice scholarship which means he’ll have to intern with the ACLU, do pro bono work and hopefully work with the prosecutors office. I’m so proud obviously. I can’t emphasize enough the importance of the therapies. He had speech, ot, pt, and a mental health therapist.
