i'd suggest to simply be Honest and tell him what you wrote here. There's nothing to be ahsamed of, and though he may nto take it too well, it would be much worse if you continued to go out with him out of some sense of obligation. You have to feel free to date whoever you want as long as you're faithful and Honest with the people you're going out with.
