My T wrote notes for the first time during session on Friday. He asked me to take him for a "tour" through my house and he wanted me to describe it in great detail. He asked me, "Is it okay if I take notes? Because I know how you feel about a therapist taking notes during session." I told him that is was okay. I actually thought it was quite amazing that he took notes during this particular session because it showed his dedication to my story. Otherwise, he has never taken notes. I know he takes them when we are on the phone because he showed me the notes once from a manic phone call and they were sort of hilarious. I am sure he takes notes after session because I have a pretty thick file, lol. I know it contains the millions of poems, journals, and other things I have given him, but I'm sure it also contains notes.
