Nammu, my dad grew up in similar circumstances.... no electricity, no running water, no indoor plumbing, no phone. Two older brothers died of ruptured appendixes because the nearest hospital was a day away on the train. Now we carry our phone in a pocket with internet access on the phone. People cannot conceive of no indoor plumbing. The idea of no electricity is alien.
