Welcome! Glad to see a fresh face here. Just jump in and post whatever comes to mind re: ACA. I'm 48 and my dad is 72 and he's been an alcoholic starting in my teens as far as I can remember. Maybe I'm blacking out with memories before then. I tend to think I had a great childhood and I have flashes of memories from my teenage years that are negative re my dad being an alcoholic. (My sister called 911 once and hung up and they called back and nobody answered so they came over and i dont think any of us talked about why my sister had called 911 - my memory of that days is poor as to what my dad was doing at the time. Im still dealing with my feelings surrounding this whole thing. But my memories are poor though I do remember that my dad would come home from work and go to his room. I dont know if he was drunk or getting that way but my sister and I had to fend for ourselves. We were probably 9 and 11 at the time. Or if he cooked us dinner it was frozen chicken pot pies that came out so hot that they burned your tongue.
