I decided to ask my boss for the 25th of January off, as a vacation day. I don't know if he will grant it because the person that I am the backup for is out due to Covid and Pneumonia. But there is a second person that can back both of us up and her backup will be here then. He is out now due to Covid but is scheduled to come back on the 18th.


The 25th is an important anniversary for me. It is the first day last year of my hospitalization and the last day that I self harmed. So it will be my year anniversary. I want to do something nice for myself. Kind of hard because of Covid but maybe drive to the mountains and have a picnic or drive to the beach and walk across the sand. I don't know. I just want to do something nice for myself. And I don't want to be at work.


I've been wanting to call out a lot lately and not wanting to come in so I know I am suffering some burnout. Usually when I feel this way if I take a day off I can "reset" and feel better. I hope that is the case here too.


I hope my boss lets me have the day off. I guess we'll see.
