I am so sorry that is happening to you. That happened to me before and it was just awful. I was able to get relief when my physician prescribed Trazadone for me. I used to take Benadryl for insomnia but became concerned when some research studies linked anti-cholinergic medications like Benadryl to Alzheimer's Disease. I am not sure antihistamines like Benadryl were in the research study however. Trazadone is an antidepressant which is being studied as a medicine that might prevent Alzheimer's Disease I believe.

Not being able to sleep is such a miserable experience. I sure hope you find something that helps you!
