I'm not a doctor, so I won't try to answer your question about life support. I am, however, a recovering alcoholic who attends AA, & I've known many people who have died as a result of their drinking. The sad part of the disease is that it not only affects the drinker, but also their friends & families...that's what you're experiencing now.
