I'm sorry you're feeling depressed, UpDownMiddleGround. Last year, at this time, there was no pandemic yet, in most of the world. Hopefully this time next year the pandemic will be mostly over.
I've had phases when I was more depressed for a long time than manic, and vice versa. I think many people with bipolar disorder just plain experience more depression, not to diminish the significance of mania/hypomanias. I once read that people with bipolar type 2 experience depression to hypomania at the ratio of 39:1. People with bipolar disorder type 1 at 3:1. (See
Treatment of acute bipolar depression which is just one of many articles citing these numbers.) Even though the average bp2 depression periods are far longer than the average bp1, the bp1 is still large. Plus, I think some have more or less than others, and it various across lifespans.
