I think the idea that there's a meaning, reason or purpose for things can be very alluring and that's why a lot of people go that way. We want to explain and give context to the suffering and hardships of life.

But I just don't see it, we just live in a world and things happen around us. Sometimes good, others terrible, often somewhere in between without much rhyme or reason.
