Good post sara. I feel the same way. The only people I know extremely preoccupied with things like Valentine’s Day are high schoolers.

The other thing I noticed that people who aren’t content in their relationships are preoccupied with superficial expressions of love like did we go to a fancy restaurant on V day or did he get me this or that or do we act like romantic couples suppose to. When people are content (in relationship or single), they rarely go nuts over things like V Day. When I was single, which was actually most of my adult live, I could not care less about if other people celebrate V day and if they have romantic dinner that night. Why does it matter

I’d focus on living your life the best you could and not worry about commercial holiday or some guys wishing anything on that day
