I'd say my hair. Especially in recent years. It's very thick, and has been wavy to downright curly. People comment on it a lot, including strangers in various countries around the world, as well as in my native country of the US. Always in a positive way. It's definitely a distinguishing characteristic of mine. When I wear it back in a ponytail or bun, people who know me sometimes comment that they like it better down and/or that I look so different with it up. When I briefly lived in Asia, I literally had people come up and touch it on the streets. Once when I went to Beijing, my host family mother insisted on brushing and blow drying it. [Definitely a bit awkward feeling for me.] In Taiwan, the owner of a prestigious salon insisted on doing my hair, while about three or four other stylists watched.

Another thing that gets me attention are my coats. My husband likes to buy me beautiful colorful ones. I can't even remember how many times they've been complimented, again by many strangers in public. Hate to say it, but I've received so many that when I respond, I simply regurgitate that my husband is the one to be complimented. Truth is, when you look around, so many people wear the same colored coats (mostly tan, gray or black) with similar cuts. Even I notice others who wear unique coats. They are not even easy to find.

I'm also a member of the gap-toothed crowd, though almost no one has ever commented on that. If a dentist wanted to fix it, I'd refuse. Actually, my old dentist was gap-toothed, too. There are a number of us out there, including Madonna, Michael Strahan (love him), Vanessa Paradis, Anna Paquin, and many more. Again, some see it as a flaw, and others see it as a wonderful distinguishing feature.
