Yeah 2mg is like a "Xanny bar". 0.5-1.5mg for me kills my worst panic attacks. That's all I need. I take 0.25mg for rare anxiety states or to help me sleep.
Even if your anxiety isn't often, 2mg is an overkill - If the anxiety is often, the overkill is a waste of precious GABA receptor intolernace.
Psychiatry has no knowledge of harm reduction in using meds and addiction centres have no knowledge about it either (Because people are going to use drugs no matter what - Nothing is 100% safe). The less you take and the less often you take, the better. When tolerant, taper off slowly just like with any drug.
