Today I attempted to use my cast iron (yes, cast iron) grill pan on it. At one point while it was preheating, I turned around and then heard a loud crack. The darned iron grill pan cracked like the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia. I could only exclaim "Oh my God!!!!" Hubby heard both the crack and exclamation from upstairs and came down to see what happened. He rightly stated that it was better that pan (empty) than a Dutch oven filled with boiling goulash.
