I searched up if The Carousel of Progress at The Magic Kingdom (Walt Disney World in Florida) is going to update the last scene. It's been 30 years since it has been. And I found a video that showed the 1968-1974 version of the last scene and then another which showed the 1980's version of it which is the one I would've seen at age 10 in December 1982. Also, talked with my mom about that trip and the trip 5 years later that our whole family went on. She said my grandmother paid for it from her inheritance from her mother- everything but food! That's airfare, hotel rooms and theme park tickets for 20 people! And then we went again in 1987 where my grandmother paid for most but not all of that trip too. Same- 20 people! I never knew this until today. Plus before the first trip my grandmother had hidden something telling us we were going to WDW under the plates at dinner and we -maybe not me or the kids in general- but the adults were to look and it was information about the trip. I knew "Gigi paid for our Disney trip..." But I didn't know it was basically all of both trips! The second time we stayed on Disney World property at the Polynesian resort- they now go for $771.50 per night! And that's for a family of 4. Actually, right now that resort is closed which is why I had a small difficulty finding a price! My grandmother paid that much -in 1987 dollars- for 5 rooms! We stayed 5 days or something! Anyway, this is just a trek down memory lane...
