So Sorry that you were abused! i don't have bipolar so i can't really answer but yeah i don't think being abused is necessary to develop a bipolar disorder. Sometimes it may be other triggering events or perhaps some other genetic factors, at least from what i have heard so if i am wrong Hopefully other members here will be able to correct me and enlighten others.
