For those yet to receive stimulus checks, I'd like to share something I heard on MSNBC (Rachael Maddow). Yes, I now have access to some US TV in Europe. Apparently some on Social Security still waiting for the checks are far from alone. It had been noted and according to Rachael, there was a demand for an explanation and that the info the IRS needed be sent immediately. It has been as of this week, and that the remaining checks in this category should be processed soon. Note the quote below, including what I underlined. Rachael and the Yahoo article explained what appears to have happened. Disconcerting.
The article
Stimulus checks: Payment blockage resolved for nearly 30 million Social Security recipients mentioned:
"The delay affects Social Security recipients and other beneficiaries
who did not file their 2019 or 2020 taxes or did not use the IRS 'Non-Filer' tool for direct payments. The IRS is now working on updating the information for the rest of the eligible federal benefit recipients. The IRS did not respond to a request by Yahoo Money on exact timing of the delayed payments."
