If you get laid off, you will likely be eligible for unemployment ($300 from the federal govt a week plus what your state provides weekly--the Cares Act makes unemployment pay higher until September 2021); yes, you do have to look for a job while on unemployment but you can set your sights really high (a much higher paying job than you have now) so that you likely won't get the job but if you do--it will be an offer you really should take (on unemployment, you usually have to except the offer). I would recommend you take advantage of unemployment if it comes to be available to you.
