Bipolarchic, yes, definitely! The sounds can be musical (but different than getting a song stuck in my head; it's as if each note is so separate from the others, and that one note or sound will repeat over and over), or it can be other sounds. For example, the ring tone of my phone plays over and over in my mind. I keep thinking I hear it, even when the phone is not ringing. And there are all sorts of other noises that get stuck and keep repeating in my mind.
When I first saw my current pdoc a few years ago I was able to lie in bed and "listen" to an entire Pink Floyd album - but it was all in my mind. The sounds had imprinted there and stayed stuck. My pdoc said that is common with BD.
