you know, my DR. told me that I should not let anyone smoke around me because I have severe asthma ... totally understandable right?
well, same can be said about behaviors and people and their toxicity, right?
does that mean we turn a blind eye? no
it means we call on others to handle the things that we could barely tolerate, let alone fix, or that could set us back or injure us in anyway, or injure others.
like, call an ambulance to their address after notifying the police of a suicide threat, or call somebodys' Dr. if you know who it is and they are in trouble with their illness, and how about a family member responsible for a certain individual, or a suicide hotline, or your local hospital or theirs.
anyway you look at it, professional help is the answer for most mental illness emergencies - and, or, delusional behaviors.
this will probably never change as the rule of thumb.
don't subject yourself to a situation that depletes your health reserve or puts you harms way, especially if you are vulnerable to people who have grave problems to begin with. period.
peace,
