Here the big news is finally the UK government released the verdict that there is a causal link with the AZ vaccine and rare blood clots. Its really small numbers but these were real people who died, they were young people. The upshot is under 30s are going to be offered another vaccine once they are eligible hopefully other vaccines will be available.

Actually I had a pretty heated discussion with my husband about it. He is of the opinion (like many) it's a small number, and more people will be saved by vaccines than harmed. He's right. But if infection rates are low younger people are less likely to catch or get seriously ill so the risk benefit balance is not quite so favourable.

I won't let it stop me when my time comes to get mine but I am glad the authorities are taking note and responding in some way by changing strategy with under 30s.

I notice my husband is very rational 'number' based in how he reasons. I admit I am more personal in that if I hear a number of people died from these clots I feel so terribly sad for those people, their families. Although of course it's small numbers next to those who died of covid.

It's horrible. I'm glad we have vaccines but it's still horrible.
