The following is a quote from "Staying Safe in Cyberspace":

"Harassment/cyber-stalking is a methodical, deliberate and persistent communication that disturbs or frightens the victim. Most laws state that harassment that continues after you have requested it stop and that the perpetrator not contact you again, is considered to be stalking. Prison terms can range from three years with a $10,000 fine (the sentence in Illinois) to a maximum of 10 years (the sentence in Massachusetts). Your local law enforcement agency can provide information regarding anti-stalking laws in your state. According to the laws of Michigan, stalking is defined as: …a 'willful course of conduct' involving repeated or continuing harassment of another individual that would cause a reasonable person to feel terrorized, frightened, intimidated, threatened, 'harassed' or molested and that actually causes the victim to feel terrorized, frightened, intimidated, threatened, harassed or molested."

If you feel you're being stalked or harassed you have an obligation to report the person(s) who are doing this to you to the proper authorities and their Internet provider.
