BethRags, Nammu makes a great point about the car shop being a bit responsible for your car working after a big fix. Would you consider asking them to look at it (for free) and let them know you have no more in your budget for additional fixes, at this time? I can't speak for your shop, but we had a couple in NJ that were great in such cases.

I haven't driven one bit since moving to CZ. I know I need to because not doing so makes it harder yet to start. I told my husband that I should at least drive common routes (i.e. to the local grocery stores). I understand the signage getting there (some traffic rules and signage are different here). Please do keep that effort going a bit, once your car issue is addressed again.
