I've been reading up on how important it is to be aware of emotions and bodily sensations. Just observing them helps when you're wanting to eat to soothe yourself:
1. What emotions are you feeling?
2. What do you feel in your body?
Here's how I am doing:
I feel scared. I'm afraid I'll be in pain all day. Physically, I feel tension in my neck. I feel really thirsty. I'm neglecting self-care.
