she had to know it would be hard for you to hear that, so it's too bad it happened on the phone and not in person. it's definitely a tough situation because i'm sure you do feel happy for her, but it also does effect you that she'll be taking time off and i'm sure you feel that, too. when my t told me she'd be out for a couple of months, she seemed to know that it might be hard for me and was prepared. she had a referral lined up if i wanted to see someone while she was away and said i can email her during that time, too. for now that seems to be ok with me, though of course i might feel differently as it gets closer. anyway, i hope you can discuss this with your t further. i think what you're feeling is totally to be expected and hopefully she can provide something to help you find a way to handle it.
