So - breakfast musings - i dont ENJOY my rice as much when i put flavored beans on top. So i think i am going back to maybe protein? I have 9 bags (servings) of rice left and 6 cans of octopus - now THERES a savory breakfast! They have equal chew and more complementary flavors. I HAVE to eat a light dinner or else i get heartburn. My mother said she suffered with heartburn from when she was a little girl. The past week plus with my rice breakfast ive been heartburn-free.

Anyway yeah the flavor and texture of the beans overwhelms rather than complements the rice. So i may try the beans over grits. I think that is a more complementary protein pairing also.

For lunch i was craving tomato - i was ready to order in dominoes chicken parm sammich and a garden salad and of course dessert, then i had a tomato cup of soup instead and saved myself boku bucks and calories. I get Batchelors cup of soup from England and they SEEM better than american ones. They dont work for dinner - i end up going to bed hungry - so we will see how they work for lunch.

So thats two meals done and dusted (yeah i watch a lot of british tv!) Im thinking veg plus bread or oatmeal or pasta for dinner. Like if i have tomato soup for lunch, then dont have red pasta for dinner.

My mother and i didnt really share meals. I was a kid and she was a grownup, i was american and she was italian. The family had dinner together, but there was no her and me. I told her once that she needed to talk to me more, but after sending me to broker a deal with my dad that she would talk to me if he would talk to my brother, which he refused - telling me one parent always loves one child more - she also refused. I was around 7.

That was not my first attempt at family counseling. When i was around 2, i asked my dad to kick her out of the house because she was mean to me, just as we had recently gotten rid of our boarder. He told me we could not, she was part of the family. I was like, huh i thought she just lived here.

I must have been something! Oh heck - i still am.

Eta - "Ugly green pants" are a wardrobe staple for me!
