Just an observation... I've noticed that people who can't deal with their own pain usually can't deal with the pain of others either. It makes them real wretched listeners because what they end up doing is pushing it away, invalidating your experience or redecorating it instead of allowing it to be just exactly what it is -- a great big pile of pain.

If we go in with the assumption that we're all human and we're all capable of feeling pain, fear, terror... then, it's not so hard -- it's just a matter of degrees.
