It’s only depressing because your goals are somewhat unrealistic. If you have reasonable goals, you’d be able to achieve it and it wouldn’t make you depressed. No one buys houses paying cash up front because no one can save the kind of money (sure some people got inheritance or maybe some make a ton but those are very few, most people work for their money and people’s income won’t allow paying cash up front). How did you buy car with cash? I sure can’t do that. Very few people are famous. Most of us aren’t.
Honestly I don’t think it’s as much goal oriented as it is living in a fantasy. Goal oriented would be set up realistic goals one at a time and try to achieve them one at a time. What you described isn’t attainable
