I have and it took me years. I got my credit card limit to be the lowest it could be which was £500 (unsure what that is in your money). I slowly upped it over 10 years now its sitting at £3,000 max. I went to my bank explained the situation I have bipolar etc etc and they were great with me.

I also give my cards to my family and my amazon orders etc go to my parents house so to monitor it. I don't store cards online.

I overspent last Christmas and my parents went mental at me. So now I am being good lol
