My last two to start school were my twins (they're freshmen now), it was very hard for them to be separated, but the school insisted, wanted them to each have their own identity and friends, I think it was because they couldn't tell them apart. They had recess together and played together with the same kids anyway, after recess they'd give each other a hug until they saw each other after school. It was very sweet. After K they were together until they were in Jr. High. I decided that they'd decided when they were ready to split up.
Congrats on this rite of passages. The one really great thing about this school was they took pictures of the kids at least once a month to document their changes. Walking in at the end of the year and seeing those baby faces when they started... they looked so grown up at the end of the year.
