I gotta say that this is very similar to what first went through my mind. It's sometimes good to be a bit humorous about the disorder. Dude, it is scary how you and I often think alike!
More seriously, my usual first steps are "lay low" (avoid overexciting situations...meaning going out in public), "try to get myself to sleep", "maybe take a prn (it's good to have one). And if it is stubborn or worsening call my doctor.
