At about 9 am my sister-in-law called, scared, worried whether or not we were all right. We didn't even yet know that some people were killed (luckily only few confirmed) or injured (many) last night by horrible tornados (some with huge hail) in southern Moravia. We also live in Moravia, though not as far south as the tornados hit. What makes this so scary is that Czech Republic has historically almost never had them. People say they only even know about them from American television. This is clearly global warming in effect. The temps have been abnormally high here, perhaps part of the cause. So many fireman have gone to the scenes, including some from Austria and Slovak Republic, whose borders are very nearby. Some people are even in Austrian and Slovak hospitals. My sensitive hubby has even shed a few tears, as have many others here.

The other night there was such a bad storm here that we temporarily lost electricity, which is also rare here.

My thoughts also go out to the people in Miami who lived in the mysteriously crashed building.
