You need to crawl under the covers like my doggies do with me when it's thundering & lighting. If you can picture this....my full bed sice air mattress on the floor & all 3 doggies on top of me trying to get under the covers & all 3 wanting my petting to calm them down. If they could get inside my skin, they would. It usually lookes like I have a 3 dog blanket when the storm's come as my California doggies just don't understand the Kentucky stormes.

I can relate to the lightning surrounding the house.....what was strange when I came inside after getting drenched & jumping into the shower......this California person didn't realize it wasn't a good idea until I looked out of the sky light right over my shower & saw the lightning flashing right overhead......I got out of the shower so fast......I looked like the roadrunner being chassed by the cayote.

I love watching the lightning, but while walking through my woods, I have several trees that have been struck by lightning, so that makes me realize that is can be very very close to home.

You are not alone in your dislike for thunder & lightning.....glad it's gone & you are feeling safe again.
