Highlights for me:
At about 2:28: She will do work on "unscrambling those fears"
At 3:30: The therapist needs to spend time with a client to understand them holistically.
At 7:54, 6th DSM criteria: Self-perception of social ineptness "is a cognitivie distortion" that feels real. The false self-perception is reinforcing.
At 10:20: Red flags to look for with a therapist: Being too quick to diagnose and giving quick cure-alls.
11:48: Arriving at a diagnosis and therapy is a slow process.
12:22: She doesn't talk to her clients in term of their diagnosis. She talks to them about their fears, etc.
17:25: She works with the client collaboratively. She's not going to be right all the time about interpreting someone's thoughts. She'd be lucky if she's right 75% of the time.
19:30: Therapy, in general, is not about pointing out "what's wrong with you". Therapy is about understanding the truth and the areas that you're great in. It's about getting closer to an optimal way to living.

Good post. Especially, working with the client collaboratively, and that the therapist is not going to be right all the time about interpreting someone's thoughts, and is lucky if she/he is right 75% of the time.
And, therapy, in general, is not about pointing out ''what's wrong with you''.....it's about understanding the truth and the areas you're great in, and about getting closer to an optimal way of living.
