Though in the UK there are many good social workers, my step brother has had so much hassle with them. His ex wife neglects his 2 kids al the time, preferring to drink and spend her benefits on herself. She has 10 children altogether, the first two went to live with their father thank god ..... the next was in prison ... as they get older they are all headed the same way. My s brother now has custody of his kids, but this is after a massive 3 year fight with social workers. He has a clean, beautiful flat, he feeds and clothes them and takes them on regular check ups and most of all, he loves them both so much. They still have to visit their mother when all she does is shout and swear at them all the time .... it is so sad ... there are so many suffering. It breaks my heart.
