My pdoc has rheumatoid arthritis and she's managing pretty well. She took some time off work a couple of years ago, but otherwise seems to be ok. I know she is on some really heavy duty anti-inflammatories and steroids that cost a bundle and compromise her immune systerm, but overall she seems to be doing pretty well.
I really hope you have good docs to help you manage this.
