The Big Guy got his stitches out yesterday. He was good about it. He was also enamored with a female dog who was waiting her turn to see the vet. He kept looking at her and whine. The little husky ignored the poor boy.
I asked some questions about if he has to have chemo in the future. He would have to see a veterinary oncologist. Got a rough ballpark figure of how much it could cost. I winced at the cost, then realized I have my government stimulus check I could use to cover it.
After giving myself Tuesday evening to feel bad about what the vet said I'm taking an approach similar to how we prepare for hurricanes. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. I also reminded myself of one of my core beliefs. None of us have guarantees about tomorrow. Beeg seems happy and well. He is not worried about cancer and the future. Time to follow his lead and focus on enjoying the here and now with him.
