Just an addition, I had some sympathy for the people who were stuck abroad back, say in March 2020. I even had a friend had to quickly cut a trip in Europe short to get back to the US, but he didn't complain. He was glad to return before things got bad soon after.

Knowing that we are still in a pandemic where things are constantly changing, choosing to travel, unless it is very essential, and then complaining when they get caught on the wrong side of the rules or wanting special treatment irritates me.
