Using the computer with no glasses was uncomfortable for the past year or so, so I got a new script - but using with progressives just does not work for me. I am often using a laptop in my lap, so looking down, and that doesn't seem to work well with progressives. I just found out I'm diabetic so I want to get that under control and revisit the glasses issue in a few months since I think that is playing a part.My husband has progressives and works on the pc all day and loves them.

Diabetes can make small variations in how good we see (optician said). They are small and when the glasses or lenses are OK for us, we seldom notice. The other "thing" is about the difference in reading- and data glasses has to do with distance. We usually hold a book closer to our eyes then we are with regard to the PC. The optician told me so. They even make the adjustment according to if we use a "steady screen" or a PC/Mac.

Please tell exactly what problems you have in your work when you visit the optician next time.

I wish you good luck with getting control with your diabetes. I am a diabetic myself.

A good weekend to you!
