I too had gotten up to about 15 alters when I started my treatment 11 years ago....... I am now down to just one main alter...... her and me - Carol & Carolyn.

I got to know my alters by listening to each one of them and by asking them to introduce themselves to me as they came out..... some times they told family members or my best friend their names - plus I am one of those DID people that are aware of what is going on 90% of the time..... I just cannot always stop them.
