He can always try taking a break in June and if things are just too difficult, he could start back on Concerta before September. But maybe stopping the meds for a while and seeing where he is at is not a bad thing. You can ask the doctor if your son will be allowed to restart meds this summer if the break from them is too much for your son to handle. I've heard that sometimes as the brain matures and people's coping skills improve, the ADD can be less of a problem (but not so for all people). I have a friend and both of her boys needed ADD meds as youngsters but are both young adults now and med free and coping--in college or finishing up, independent, etc. Best of luck!
