I have Autism, SM and SP It greatly interfered with stroke recovery and I never regained the life I had managed before it. I'm thankful my autism means I like and often prefer my own company but got treated dismissively by the rehab team when I struggled to be able to do things in front of others due to the Selective Mutism and Autism. I was 'wasting resources' someone normal could have who would be able to return to a normal life.(ie go back to work like e a productive member of society)
