So, for English class I have to write an essay I coz cervical cancer because my grandmother on my dad's side died of it. I was also curious because since my grandmother died of it, it means me and my sister had a 75% chance of getting it. I thought I'd be fine just compiling the statistics facts and figures. Will no the information is all jumbled up in my head and I feel myself suffocated with emotion thinking about what it must of being like for my grandmother. I know it's just a report and I just tell myself to stop overthinking it, it doesn't have to be a long report it's on 800 words but I'm reading over my notes and I wasnt sure where to start. I guess it's best to start with the disease symptoms and then talk about genetic testing because the report is mainly about genetic testing to diagnose cervical cancer. Will anyway, I'm just lost in the diagnosis and can't help but feel an overwhelming sorrow over my grandmother. I also feel a renewed sympathy for my dad having to grow up knowing his mother had cancer. It's quite hard to navigate those emotions and I just wonder how my dad and his siblings coped. Maybe I should have a chat to my aunty and dad about it. Since they have lived experience of it...I might be overthinking it but I want to understand there experience and then I feel like I'll be able to write the report much more clear headed.
