One of the old ladies in my building had wls in the 90's. She said don't do rny she now has osteoporosis. But she said good luck and it's a good decision. She was over 300 lbs. I'm not. I'm 265. But losing 130 lbs is overwhelming. I'm struggling to lose the 20 for the pre diet. Down 6, 14 to go. I lose slow gain fast. Sucks.
I disagree with the woman in your building. RNY has been done for 15 years and laproscopically. Its permanent and I wanted it that way. My understanding with the belt or sleeve is it can be stretched easier and can sometimes need revisions or adjustments. That is not to say its not good. Many people I know have had great success with those procedures. The type of procedure has nothing to do with osteo- that is usually due to age and genetics.
